You may know very well about Burma or you may not. It is a country located in the south east Asian peninsula with beautiful landscapes. People are friendly and helpful despite repressive government. I intend to enter some interesting events related to Burma and its people in my Mandalar diary.

1991 Nobel Peace Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi

Her name is Aung San Suu Kyi.
She is a pro-democracy leader of Burma.
She is a daughter of Burma's national hero General Aung San, who led the country to get independence.
She is 1991 Nobel Peace Laureate.
She has achieved over 70 international awards.
Now she has been under house arrest since 30 May, 2003.
